With a voice that stirs the soul and a passion that pours into every performance, Jayme Giesbrecht is a powerhouse in gospel, soul, rock and jazz music. Based in Southern Manitoba, Jayme has been captivating audiences for over 20 years—bringing a blend of rich vocals, heartfelt storytelling, and timeless musical influences to every stage she steps on.
From her early days singing in church, Jayme’s “big voice” quickly drew attention. As she grew, so did her sound—incorporating the depth of gospel, the grit of rock and blues, and the smooth phrasing of jazz. Her musical journey has taken her from intimate local venues to larger stages, including performances alongside some of Canada’s musical legends.
Jayme’s debut album To Keep You From Falling (produced by John Paul Peters at Private Ear Recording, Winnipeg) showcased her range and depth. Backed by talented musicians like Jonathan Alexiuk and blues guitarist JP Lepage, the album received strong local support and remains a favourite among fans of gospel and soul.
Performing regularly with pianist Jonathan Alexiuk has opened doors for Jayme, including guest appearances with the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra in their “Charlie Brown Christmas” special. She has also shared the stage with Order of Canada blues icon Big Dave McLean, and opened for classic acts like April Wine, The Beach Boys, and acclaimed gospel groups such as The Booth Brothers, Legacy Five, and Sweet Presence.
Recent highlights include singing backup for two-time Grammy-nominated hip-hop artist Fresh IE at a Juno celebration concert and again during a Canada Day livestream from IG Field, home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Currently, Jayme is working on her second album—a collection that blends her gospel roots with soulful jazz stylings. Until then, you can catch her live at events across Southern Manitoba, where her voice continues to uplift and inspire.
